Let the games begin!

Reluctantly, yet somewhat anxiously, I left home at 8:40am and headed off to Royal Nepean Hotel to begin the first day of my chemotherapy and radiation treatments. What a beautiful day to go fishing or riding I ponder looking at the clear blue sky as I get into the car.

After being admitted, I was introduced to my nurses. Lea who would be inserting the IV and setting up my cytotoxic drip of Cisplatin. Doreen, my care nurse who ensures that I'm comfortable at all times and answers any questions that I may have. Fay and Sue, who change my fluids and track my progress along the way today and finally, Anita, who is in charge of booking my treatments and making sure all is on track. I now realise what it feels like to be treated like royalty.

After having proved that my kidneys were working by peeing into a bottle, (they wanted 300ml, I gave them 450ml..LEGEND of the fall)  it was time to commence the chemotherapy treatment.  I'm finally on my way to evicting this uninvited squatter. Yee-haa!!
